Day 14- Reminders

Having read 2 Peter, 1 John and now Jude, I’m seeing two strong themes throughout each of these books:

1. A warning to believers against those who attack the central truths of Scripture
2. A reminder to walk according to God’s Word.

I know all three of these authors were writing letters to believers in different areas. They were writing to encourage believers in their faith, to remind them to continue to walk in God’s ways, to help their brothers and sisters, and to warn them against the mockers that will try to tear them down and try to tear scripture down.

It is really cool reading all three of these books back-to-back and just watching them each support the other and build up the same ideas, the most crucial elements in our faith and in our walk with God.

Lord,
Thank You for Your Word and helping me read this morning. Having hardly slept and waking up sick made it very difficult to concentrate, but thank You for helping me follow-through anyway. It is a joy to be in Your Word, knowing that I am growing a little bit closer to You everyday! Being two weeks into this journey now, I’ve had a lot of bumps and struggles in staying consistent, but You’ve helped me continue on. Lord, please continue to help me along this journey to be consistently in Your Word and in prayer with You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
